Established in 1991, the Vandalia Youth Theatre Company is a non-profit educational organization committeed to making high-quality live theatre accessible, relevant, and memorable for young people throughout the Miami Valley.   Each summer, we produce three musical productions, a Senior show for children grades 9 through 12, a Junior show for children grades 4 through 8; and our newest venture,  PeeWee VYT,  for children Kindergarten age through 3^rd grade.  Every child who auditions is cast in a show, regardless of experience or ability

We provide a safe, creative, and nurturing place where our young actors can build self-assurance and realize their true potential through the unique collaborative art form that is musical theatre.  VYT nurtures the intellectual and supports the artistic and personal development of youth.  Our program  provides a positive environment where children can learn teamwork, communication skills, discipline, and the pride of accomplishment...skills that are critical to their success both in school, work, and in life as well as encouraging what we hope will be lifelong love of the theatre.

Over the past 20 + years, we’ve grown from a small one show production involving 20 students, to our current program casting over 170 children.   Thousands of Vandalia/Butler and Miami Valley students have participated in our productions and we are beginning to welcome a second generation of VYT actors. 

We never tire of hearing from the students, alumni, and parents whose lives have been touched by VYT.  Their praise inspires and motivates our professional staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers who graciously give or their time and talents to enable our theatre to thrive.   Literally thousands of volunteer hours are logged each season.  As a non-profit organization, we obtain funding through tuition, ticket sales, program advertisement, support from the City of Vandalia, the Vandalia Butler Lions Club,  and local service clubs and community organizations.  If you share our love of VYT and wish to make a donation or become a volunteer, please contact us via email at vandaliayouththeatre@yahoo.com or by clicking on the “contact us” or "support us"  link.
